From Marvel to Horses and Fainting Goats!

I am very proud of my new home Mail/Family Command Wall…over the Christmas Break I gave myself goals….
1. Get new bedding for our bedroom….well I got that as a Christmas gift so that was AWESOME!! Thanks Jomi for "hinting" to the hubs for me! I love it!! All I need now are to pick new curtains and curtain rods.
2. Find a wall decoration to go above our bed.
3. Get an organizational wall done! ---Pinterest Inspired!

Well 1 and 3 are complete and while #2 was attempted twice myself and David were not satisfied with the selections I came home with…however I did find the perfect piece of metal art however it was too small for the wall space….so now I am leaning towards painting the wall and making it a drastic accent wall!

Well break is over and what better way to spend the first weekend after school has started than playing video games….Lego Marvel to be exact….I choose Lego games when its my turn to pick a game because
1. I am terrible at video games…2. You can't die in Lego games!
This way I avoid….getting frustrated and David does not get antsy will playing with me. It's a Win-Win situation….look at that The 7 Habits have carried over from school to home!

This weekend is MLK weekend….let me just say it is a difficult concept to teach Kindergarteners about racism and equality when they have never lived in that kind of world. Not to say that I myself have either but I am older and grasp the concept….so the easiest way to explain it was to say that Martin Luther King Jr. helped change the minds of lawmakers that everyone deserved to go to school together instead of boys only with boys or girls only with girls and that if you have different colored "hair" it didn't matter because the world only works and classrooms only work when everyone is together. It helped that one of my students had just moved and they were still missing her and wanted her to come back. We took on a Win Win attitude as we read The Crayon Box that Talked. Anyways this weekend we went to my new "BFF's" sons birthday party in Colorado City….she is actually a super good friend of my sister's and has now adopted my family as her family. While we were visiting with her and my sister we got to go see a baby goat….some horses as well as the ultimate……FAINTING GOATS!!! You would have thought we won the lottery how excited everyone was about the goats….the video is on David's phone so that will have to come later. Dj enjoyed playing with most of his cousins and was beyond thrilled that we took Bichael and Buckey with is. (John Michael and Robbie) We rushed home today so that we could get the boys to baseball practice.

Well I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend. I know that I will be reading for Grad School and enjoying Monday and Tuesday off….however Tuesday is for a Curriculum Committee Hearing…bluh….all day long in Vendor Presentations!

Lately...

Well between ear infections....sinus infections and some nasty allergies...this family has been under the weather! Thanks to the weather...between cold then hot and don't forget the wind!

Last Saturday was Winter Formal....Here is a shot of Ori's hair after the curling wand and I were done. I must say I am pretty impressed with its results. I love some curls.  Dj and I spent the day over at Norma's and then David joined us later that evening for dinner after she left for the dance. While we were hanging out with Norma and Louis this is how we found Dj in the living room.
We rested on Sunday and then went out of town on Monday to take a look at David's new "Rotty 100" project. More on that later....
While we were in Colorado City....Dj got the privilege of driving a tractor! Even though I am far away taking the picture I am convinced that is "One HAPPY little guy"!!!
From the tractor he moved on to the horses and I even bottle feed a baby steer.

Yesterday Dj went to get his flu shot while we were at work....so after work I took my lil guy to get ice cream! What better way to end an 80 degree day but with homemade Mexican ice cream from the Paleteria! While we were there one of my students families owns the business and Dj got to play with my student and his little sisters! Gotta love those RED cheeks!
When we got home I was beyond excited.....MY $1.25 SCARF W/ FREE SHIPPING CAME IN!!! I <3 it="" nbsp="" p="">
Now to enjoy our weekend....REST is my plan....and start my 2nd round of antibiotics....JOY! Next week is the last week of Fit Camp! Another 4 weeks under the belt when the week is over! Enjoy the weekend!!

The Past Couple Weeks...

Wow! This summer feels like it is flying by! I can say we have had tons of fun this summer and looking forward to some more!

Here are some pictures and mini recaps of whats been going on!!

One of the biggest changes is....drumroll please....MY NEW JOB!! I'll have more on that later once I actually get to look at my room.

Sunday was David's Dad's birthday and we took over a Batman ice-cream cake. Dj loves playing "BALL" with Poppy!

Wednesday Dj and I went to the Camp Bowie Aquatic Center in Brownwood with Norma and the kids! It was so much fun and Dj loved it after he got used to constant water. Here he is walking around during our lunch break. If you haven't heard of this park you should go...it only cost Dj and I $5 to get in and we got to take in a cooler!

The weekend of Father's Day we went to Dj's 1st Ranger's game! They won and we got to see a Fireworks show!! Dj loved the game and watching the fireworks. It was fun to spend some relaxing time with friends. Shaft, Sharon, Rachel and William and of course Dj's new friend Indica joined us!

While spending time in the Ft. Worth area we made a stop at Toys R Us to check out some ideas for Dj's 2nd birthday present!! Needless to say my boys know how to have fun "Noodle" style!

Living the American Dream

Friday marked the beginning of summer vacation for me....it was a super calm day at work all I had to do was check in, pick up my laptop and say bye to my co-workers and the secretary. Since it was such a short day I took Dj with me to work and we got to see Braxton my co-workers son as well. The boys are 5 months apart and man there is a huge difference height wise. Dj is a whole head taller than him. After that I came home made breakfast for us, put Dj down for a nap and waited for David to get off work!! We had an Avenger's Date!! After the date Dj had a date to get his hair cut! He loved the little car that he could drive but HATED the clippers they used to clean up the cut!

We had dinner with our friend Phillip and came home to RELAX!
Saturday we had some friends over for a BBQ! It was an adult time BBQ and play date for Dj and his new friend Indica. Shaft made it in to Abilene alittle after Rachel, William and Indica got here. There are always stories from our BBQ's but I'll let you ask David or myself about those.

Sunday David started work on the "American Dream" as he calls it after some recovery time! He and Shaft have been hard at work on the new picket fence that will block Zoe from getting up on the porch and jumping on the door. They are currently getting and working on the finishing touches to the gate so that the project will be COMPLETE!!

T
Well I just got Dj down for a nap time to finish up some laundry and get ready for our GAME DAY/PLAY DATE in a couple hours.
I'll have more to post about our "American Dream" and YAY!! Only a month and some change and Dj turns 2!!

Well crazy doesn't end....

I think I really should have titled this blog post....DEADLINES! Between work and home...I am starting to feel the pressure of deadlines. Graduation for my kids is next week....EOY fiesta next week too....on and then Maddie's First Communion and Confirmation!! YAY!! Our friend is graduating from Tech so we'll be making a trip for that....oh and did I forget its the end of the school year which means all folders and paperwork has to be completed ASAP!
On top of all that I am teaching a new friend some Spanish so that she can better communicate with my Spanish/Bilingual students when she has them on the bus. Which I <3 because it makes me feel like my kids at school are just as loved by others as they are by me!
David has been working on homework....he always has DEADLINES! I am starting to feel him on the constant pressure!
Sorry for the rant....I tend to have small anxiety attacks when my plate is overflowing...but this is a happy overflowing...it wouldn't be the end of the year with out a bit of CHAOS!
I can't believe my kids are so close to being KINDERGARTENERS!! I have been truly blessed this year with a LOVING class! We truly became a family and I will actually be sad to see them go!
So pray that I make it through....end of the year testing, diplomas, yearbook making, classroom decorating, graduation, fiestas, report cards, perm folders and ohhh yes classroom cleaning all in the next week or so!

ohh and did I forget to mention its TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!! Try to think of your fondest memory or your favorite teacher?!

To color or not to color...

That's the question of the week...to color or not to color my hair!? I've always had some grey hair and until recently it hasn't really been an issue but has become noticeable and so...I have a hair appt tomorrow and well see what happens :)
David is in his mid term week and has been busy working with Tim on his Dads car and doing homework! I am so proud and can't believe he will be done this summer! While I am currently debating on going back...wow can you tell my head has been full of thoughts :)

Friday fun!

It's been a short week at work but enough to get the kids settled back in! This afternoon we took Dj and the kids to the park to enjoy the 70 degree day before it gets cold again. Tomorrow is a sad day that comes before a sad week...I'll be attending a memorial service of a highschool/elementary friend.
Hopefully well have a better weekend with our lil guy feeling better!!

Vacaciones!

What more can I say other than I <3 the vacation aspect of my job! My Christmas vacation officially started yesterday at 11 am. After work I went to have appetizers with my girls from work at Chili's. It's nice to talk normal talk with adults especially since we really only talk with 4 yr olds all day! After that I picked up munchkin man and we had lunch with dad! The best part of yesterday was being home by 12:30 and taking a nap in the middle of the day! This year I got some awesome gifts from my kids! I LLoOVEe hot cocoa mugs! Dj's godparents came over for a visit so that was nice to watch Dj play well actually bother the boys while they played video games with David! Today Dj and I slept in yes we didn't wake up till 8:30 this morning!! Sadly David has to work the rest of the week but at least we get to hang out with him during the day. Tonight we went out with a friend and played shhh my Christmas present!! More on that later!! I'm really looking forward to relaxing and getting some organization and re-arranging done!

Date Night 1.0

I think hurricane Katrina hit my work week..Monday's are always hard after holidays for any teacher but 4 yr olds take that way differently! In the middle of the day I found out I would lose one student and gain 4!! Yes you read that right 4 more! So you could only imagine how exhausting it is to start over! I've been tired and cranky this week and hate that constant feeling so I was very pleased web David asked lets do a date night!! So he made the plans and I was just along for the ride :) We went to the movies and saw Breaking Dawn--I can say I was disappointed! I've read all of Stefenie Meyers books and loved the movie in my head! After the movie we enjoyed a nice Alfredo's dinner and hung out with David's parents before heading home!

I think date night is a must from now on! Thanks Babe!

Looking forward to the family weekend we have planned!

A Sacred Heart

Wow! An intense title for an intense change in our lives! We have friends that are doing great on the road to a healthy life and weight. We always usually one at a time say I'm going to do this or that sounds great and we might for a couple days but this time it's a mutual decision that we are committing to a week long diet plan! A friend of David's actually gave him the plan and we went tonight and bought all we needed for the week. I am proud to say our fridge is full w veggies, fruit, milk and juice! Heres our ingredients and all that goodness in the pot!
This weekend we tried to relax some as much as we know how...David worked in the shop while I went shopping with Dj's Tia Rachel. Today David went to look at a truck while Dj and I ate breakfast and then went to Christmas in November with Memaw.
Next week is my last full week before Thanksgiving which is really nice to think of but also means we've got to get on the ball with our learning expectations!
I'll keep an update on our soup and diet change!

Alot of Hot Air!

Friday David had a Blue Bear appearance at the 2011 Big Country Balloon Fest! It was at 4 so Dj & I didn't make it. If you talk to David you should ask him what a class of preschoolers can do to an overgrown BEAR!! We got to go later that night and it was a first time experience for all of us!! I was so excited Thursday when David said we were going I could hardly wait! Dj loved every minute of it!! We had a kinda picnic at the park just in time for the Hot Air Glow!

A SCENTSational Time!

Wow where do I begin! Work has been busy...so has life...but then again when is it not...this time for both David and I. I am so proud of my hubby who has decided to go back to school and finish his Bachelors Degree! While I have taken on a new business venture.....I took a plunge...well I should say WE took a plunge because I couldn't do this without the help of my family....and am an offical SCENTSY Independent Consultant!

This is the October Warmer which is on sale next month! Tonight we had a training party where I got to meet the other members of my team...enjoyed some dinner and SCENTS talk! I am so excited to be working with a wonderful group of women...and loving that it is making me step out of my box! I decided to start selling because I'd love to add to the financial security of our family!

I am looking forward to our October parties!! Yes I did it booked 2 parties this coming month...just in time for the holidays!
The BEST NEWS....drum roll please......................Dj is WALKING!!!

Well time to finish up my first Scentsy order and pack for deliveries tomorrow!!

A New Beginning!

School started Monday...well teacher work days did. I have decided that this year will be a NEW year and a BETTER year than the last!
I must say that Dj transitioned back to grandma and grandpa's house with no problem. So well that they were waiting at the driveway for us when we showed up on Monday. I was alittle scared that it wasn't going to be a good day as the weekend before he would cry anytime that I left the room much less walked away from him in general.
It is adorable that he gets to take his lunch with him everyday.

On another note...tomorrow is my first day back in my room and only 3 more work days until school STARTS!!

Ohh and we are in a GLEEK marathon!

Date Night w my Lil Man

Tonight Davids playing poker with the guys and I am having date night with my little man! We decided to treat ourselves to Chinese take out and Soul Surfer! Let me just say so far this is an awesome movie! We also watched another movie this morning Under the same Moon. I love when movies give me perspective on my job and what some of my families live.
This weekend we are really busy...so busy 3 of our parties are at the same time.
Sadly this is the last weekend of summer and I start work on Monday...BOO! But at least my date night is with this stud muffin! Who could ask for more!! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Routing away!!

Well we finally did it! We upgraded wireless routers! We've been using one that my brother in law Louis let us have ages ago...at least in techo land for sure! In my opinion it cost a bit much but in the scheme of things I can work online doing my work stuff while David is watching Netflix, playing PS3 or any other widget our TV has on it. So welcome the Cisco Linksys-E4200 Router to the Anderson Casa!

I must say it looks rather intimidating! It took me about 2 hours to get this simple device "accoding to the instructions" up and running! Apparently my laptop does not like Cisco software! After spending time on the phone with Louis...and now being in debt...well Dj and David are in debt to him...99 kisses and a 23 pack of Modelo! I am happy to announce that I am currently blogging while David is playing GTA with Trey and Shaft.
Sadly I start work in the next week and a half...I am not looking forward to it one bit. Tonight Dj and I went to the store to stock up on snacks and things that he'll need for Mama's house in the next week! Dj is my little trooper and helper at the grocery store. I can hand him things and he'll put them in the back of the basket for me. I can't believe how much he's grown and how smart he's getting. Our newest accomplishments are standing and walking along anything he can get his little fingers on and putting things in cups or bowls and transferring them back and forth between objects!

Well...time for bed as I have a early GYM wake up call!!

Whew!! School's OUT for Summer!!

Wow its been a crazy time for our little family! David has been busy working and working on all our remodel stuff--kitchen and bathroom! I've been working on finishing up the school year, bible study and FINALLY planning Dj's birthday party! This past week I took Dj to our bible study and I must say he was a distraction but it has been a wonderful experience growing with these ladies! We are reading and following Believing God by Beth Moore. I love my weekly time with these ladies because its a wonderful time to just reflect on life and all the blessings God has given us! What I am thinking about most is that we must believe is "God is who God says He is"!
This is our first weekend that hasn't been crazy busy yet we are still busy...we had Andrew's graduation Friday night in Colorado City! I'll post a picture later...We are very proud of Andrew even though he will be attending Texas A & M!! Today we stayed home and worked on cleaning, organizing and of course David worked on the kitchen! Tomorrow we'll be working on the kitchen some more and then have a birthday party for a family friend!
I am very proud of myself because I placed the first order for Dj's birthday and that will be in around June 10th! I am processing the next order and just waiting on the pinata to come back in stock to place that order! I've decided on centerpieces, balloons, cakes, decorations etc...I am thrilled to be planning this party! The only thing that I'm having a little issue with is what activities to have for the kids that attend the party to participate in....swimming, jump-o-lene....hmmm....maybe a mixture...I am currently leaning towards a swimming pool...

Doesn't this seem like such an awesome swimming pool for little ones!!
Well I think its time for us to head to bed...Davids checking out textures and I think its time to rest my brain from planning!

It's been a ZOO around here lately!!

Well then end of March was CRAZY!! Left Dj for the first time for a 3 day 2 night stretch while I attended the 18th Annual BEEMS conference in El Paso! Let me just say you don't know Bilingual Education until you've seen El Paso's schools! I visited La Fe Prep School an I must say that I was very impressed with both their curriculum but their motivation! Each family is invested and connected to their child's education as all parents should be! Enough with that soap box...

We've been busy lately...and trying to enjoy as much family time as possible. We are in shock at how fast our little man is growing up!! He weighs in at 21 lbs, 27.5 inches long and is working on tooth number 7!! He offically uses rolling as a method of moving around...now to master CRAWLING...then look out world here comes DJ!
David has been spending his free time doing body work and this weekend we bought a rug and some wood to finish setting up our guest bed! I am super excited about that cause finally Shaft doesn't have to sleep on our couch! On top of all our normal everyday life things I've been helping my sister plan Ori's quince...can't believe it were t-minus 45 or 50ish days!!
Work for both of us has been normal...both good and bad days! I recently had my evaluation and have been praying that it went well and that all of these funding issues fix themselves and that the lay offs that we have had are done! I am blessed to work with an amazing group of ladies that have been very positive and encouraging towards me since I fall into one of the lay off categories!! But we're all praying!!
I'll leave it off there...I have a date with my hubby downtown at the new CUPCAKE shop!

Super Weekend!

It has been an awesome week at home with the family! I got to add some decor to our bathroom, clean house and plan our new diet! Well the diet our dr suggested! But we started the diet today and yesterday had some yummy tacos, tostadas, dip and cupcakes!!
We enjoyed watching the Super Bowl at home! Lori and Tim joined us for cupcakes later in the game...they aren't sports fans which was nice cause it didn't matter that Dj was noisy and I was talking! Today was a long first day back at work! Whew but at least textbook committee stuff is done now just to get details on my BEEMS Conference coming up in March! On a sad note David was not chosen for jury duty! We searched for a salon for nothing! Well picture day tomorrow!
